La Cascade in Durfort
is about 70 km from the Toulouse Airport in Blagnac. I suggest that everyone meets at the airport on the same day at a pre-arranged time. Departures should also be on the same day and not earlier than ten o’clock. If an early departure is unavoidable, I suggest booking a flight for the following day and staying at a hotel near the airport. If cars are rented, they are picked up at the airport. Since sight-seeing is such a part of the fun, I suggest that people car pool, two to a small budget car, three to a 4-door car, four to a larger car with plenty of space for luggage. (The amount of luggage is determined by tools and materials required by a workshop.) It’s possible to take a shuttle from the airport to the bus depot in Toulouse and catch a bus to Revel and a taxi for the remaining 5km to Durfort. From Toulouse Airport to La Cascade
- As you leave the airport, stay in the right lane – head toward Toulouse
- Exit right at sign:
Bourdeaux, Albi
- You will cross a river
- At traffic circle, turn right towards
Bordeaux, Paris, Albi
- You are now on a freeway that circles Toulouse
- Go along road with a canal on the right side
- Stay left to avoid exit lanes
- Take A61 towards
Albi, Montpellier
- Follow A61 towards
Castres, Montpellier
- Stay left to avoid exit lanes
- Follow A61 towards
Montpellier, Barcellone
- Follow A61 – pass exits (sorties) 14 through 17

on the right side of the highway. A large rocket is the landmark. - Just after Space City, take right exit number 18 marked
Labege, Revel, St. Orens
- Turn left at end of the off ramp onto D2 and follow signs to
Revel
- The suburban towns give way to open fields and small villages. Revel is about an hour’s drive.
- 4 kilometers past St. Felix Lauragais, D2 ends at D622.
- Turn left onto D622 and follow signs to
Revel
. - Go straight through the first two traffic circles.
- At the third traffic circle, take the third spoke leaving the Café de Commerce to your left.
- Continue a short distance past a large church. You are on the road that circles Revel.
- Make a sharp right turn at the sign for Soreze, Durfort, Dourgne on D85.
- Go about a mile to the Pont Crouzet bridge. Go slowly over the second bridge and take a sharp right at sign D44 Durfort.
- Follow D44 into Durfort.
- Pass Café Cyrano on right side.
- Continue one block further to church and park.
- Walk right, in front of church.
- Turn left on the last street, Rue des Martineurs.
- A few doors down on the right is 27 Rue des Martineurs ... La Cascade !!
From Toulouse Train Station to La Cascade
Gare de Toulouse-Matabiau is the main railway station in Toulouse, southern France. It is located in the city centre and connected to the Toulouse Metro. The station is situated on the Bordeaux–Sète railway, Toulouse–Bayonne railway, Brive-Toulouse (via Capdenac) railway and Toulouse-Auch railway. Direct trains run to most parts of France. THestatin is on a street that runs along the Canal du Midi.
- Cross the canal on one of the three bridges by the station and turn left on the one way street on the other side of the canal. The name of the street is Boulevard de Bonrepos, but although it is the only street that follows the canal south, it changes names several times. (Boulevard Riquet, Port Saint Sauveur, Boulevard Monplaiser.)
- Turn left onto Allée des Demoiselles which is D2, the road to Revel. (If you’re counting it’s 6-7 streets from the bridge) The name changes to Avenue Saint Exupery, etc. D2 takes you to Revel, a town 5 kilometres from Durfort, and you will soon see road signs to St.Orens and Revel. Follow the signs to Revel through the outskirts.
